For the last month or so I've been living with my Visual Studio 2015 hanging for up to two minutes when simply right clicking on the web project and selecting Publish (before the publishing UI comes up)
Well today I got fed up with waiting and went to search for solutions. I stumbled across this Stack Overflow answer from Mike.
Following the instructions:
- Open the Properties of the web application you are trying to publish
- Select Package/Publish SQL (click Enable This Page if available)
- Click Import from web.config
- Uncheck all the options
Now right clicking and Publishing only takes a few seconds before the Publishing UI comes up
